Kelly Piacenti

Kelly Piacenti leads the MassMutual SpecialCare program, overseeing a national network of nearly 400 Special Care Planners dedicated to supporting families with loved ones who have special needs. In addition to program leadership, Kelly manages strategic alliances between MassMutual and prominent nonprofit organizations serving the disability community, including The Arc, Autism Society, Huntington’s Disease Society of America (HDSA), National Down Syndrome Congress (NDSC), Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance, and United Cerebral Palsy (UCP).

Kelly currently serves on the National Board of Directors for UCP, and previously held an eight-year tenure on the National Board of The Arc, concluding in 2020. She is also an active member of the Advisory Boards for both the Academy of Special Needs Planners and the American College Center for Special Needs. Her commitment to inclusion is further reflected in her past role as Chair of MassMutual’s ADAPT Business Resource Group, which focuses on advancing disability inclusion across the organization.

A recognized thought leader, Kelly has spoken at major industry events such as the LIMRA Advanced Sales Forum and the Disability:IN Global Conference, and has been featured on various radio programs and podcasts. Her insights have appeared in publications including Exceptional Parent Magazine, U.S. News & World Report, and ConnectCom.

Kelly’s contributions have earned her several honors, including the Chair Award from United Cerebral Palsy in April 2024 for outstanding volunteer leadership, the Theresa Award from the Theresa Foundation in 2017 for her advocacy and community service, and recognition as a Working Mother of the Year by Working Mother magazine in 2015.

Prior to joining MassMutual in 2016, Kelly spent 25 years at MetLife, where she led the MetLife Center for Special Needs Planning for 11 years. She holds a Master’s degree and resides in Chester, New Jersey with her husband and has 4 adult children. As a mother to a child with special needs for 19 years, Kelly brings a deeply personal perspective, empathy, and unwavering dedication to her work, serving as a trusted guide and advocate for families navigating similar paths.
