Lianne Dumas, Esq.

Deputy City Attorney, San Francisco City Attorney’s Office

Lianne Dumas is a Deputy City Attorney with the San Francisco City Attorney’s Office, where she serves on the Dependency and Mental Health Team. In this role, she provides litigation and legal counsel to the Office of the Public Conservator, the Department of Public Health, and Family and Children’s Services, helping these departments fulfill their mandates to serve San Francisco’s most vulnerable residents.

Before joining the City Attorney’s Office, Ms. Dumas worked with the Judicial Council of California, advising judges, attorneys, and government agencies on best practices in juvenile law, delivering training, and ensuring compliance with state and federal legal standards through court file audits and legal research.

She is also the former owner of LMD Legal Aid, where she spent over six years representing parents, minors, and adults in dependency, delinquency, and criminal proceedings. She also served as a volunteer attorney with Open Door Legal, providing direct legal services in San Francisco’s Bayview/Hunters Point neighborhood.

Ms. Dumas brings a unique perspective from her work at the intersection of mental health, public conservatorship, and child welfare, and she remains deeply committed to ensuring access to justice for underserved populations.
